Firewinder wind-powered lantern

firewinder-wind-powered-lantern.jpg

As long as the wind blows, the Firewinder wind-powered lantern glows. No matter which direction the wind is coming from, the wind-powered lantern harnesses its power using the helix design to light the 20 ultra-bright LEDs, which can be visible from as far as 100 miles away. You don’t have to wait for a whirlwind to blow by, the Firewinder will glow even in a faint breeze of just three miles per hour, although optimal light output starts with wind speeds of five to seven miles. Just hang it outside, and let the wind do its work. The Firewinder measures just under 30 inches in height and weighs 4.4 lbs., and comes in Treehugger Green. This British invention is set to hit store shelves across the pond by Christmas, and will follow soon to a campsite near you. The Firewinder retails for approximately $170. Firewinder.
